Privacy

We collect as little as we can and we do not sell or share it. This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers, so browsing it leaves no record with us or anyone else.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles you may request access to what we hold, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Write to hi@hyvemindsgroup.com and we will respond within 30 days, usually far sooner. If you are unsatisfied you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Data handling

Our default is that your data stays with you. Where you choose hosted deployment, it stays in the region you nominate.

Where we work with First Nations organisations, data governance follows the principles of Indigenous data sovereignty. Community-held data stays on community-controlled infrastructure, consent terms travel with the dataset, and we do not copy, back up or retain it. In HyveMaps this is enforced at render time rather than left to policy.

Products used in research settings carry consent metadata on each dataset. Where the recorded consent does not cover a use, the data will not render in that view. Published methods notes contain aggregate figures only.

Accessibility

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA across this site and every product, and we treat a gap as a defect rather than a backlog item.

If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it at no cost.

Terms of service

You may use our products for any lawful purpose consistent with these terms. You keep ownership of everything you create. We do not claim licence over your content beyond what is technically required to provide the service you asked for.

Hosted services target 99.5% monthly availability, excluding notified maintenance. Self-hosted deployments are yours to run and their availability is yours to determine. We give 90 days notice before removing a feature, and we will not make a breaking change to a stable format without a migration path.

You can export everything and leave at any time, with no exit fee and no retention period. If we discontinue a product we will give twelve months notice and open-source the format specification so your files remain readable.

Our products support professional judgement; they do not replace it. Nothing we ship constitutes clinical, legal or educational advice, and decisions made using our tools remain yours. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Intellectual property

Content you author stays yours: scenarios, codebooks, datasets, transcripts, maps and analyses. Partner organisations retain full rights to material developed in a partnership, including work our team contributed to.

The software, the Hyveminds name and the product marks are ours. Published methods notes are released under CC BY 4.0, so you may reuse them with attribution. File-format specifications are open and free to implement.

Open-source components are used under their own licences, listed in each product’s about screen. Catalogue titles in Lexis are public domain or licensed from their rights holders. Basemap data is attributed on the map.

Security

Responsible disclosure. Report a vulnerability to hi@hyvemindsgroup.com. We will acknowledge within two business days, will not pursue legal action for good-faith research, and will credit you unless you would rather we did not.
